Coffee Time

Buy a few plain coffee mugs from the market and paint special designs for each member of your family or friends. They will love it.

The things you need:

1. Oil or acrylic colours
2. Paint brushes
3. Plain ceramic coffee mugs
4. Turpentine oil

Step 1: Wash the mugs with hot water and soap. Dry them and ensure that there are no grease or dirt stains.

Step 2: Paint small motifs or write out a message for the person you are going to give the mug to. For instance, you can make a caricature or write any message that you may want: “for my lovely sister”, “for you, Grandpa”, or even a birthday message.

Painting Tip: Wait for the first colour coat to dry before putting another.

Step 3: Let the paint dry overnight.

In case you feel that you can do much better, take a clean rag, dip it in turpentine oil and rub out whatever you have painted and start again. It’s that simple.
