Middle of the Road – Fill in the blank space on each line to make a common seven-letter word. Then read down to the middle columns to find the answer to the riddle: Where do dieters go on vacation?
The puzzle book is meant to be educative. The puzzles are interesting and designed to make you think. Once you can solve the puzzles by figuring out the clues, you get to learn more than what you already know. You can come up with more places across the globe in order to solve the mind-benders.
Hellen Havonec has tried to cover the whole world with these puzzles. However, she has included several puzzles specific to the United States of America.
Here is another sample puzzle:
Dry Wit – What did Lawrence of Arabia say as he walked through the Sahara Desert? To find the answer to this riddle, put the name of the world’s deserts that are scattered below into the grid. Use the length of each word and the letters and the letters already placed in the grid to guide you. Then read down the starred column to find Lawrence of Arabia’s four-word phrase.
