Children's Pledge to On-line Safety
Home / Non Fiction for Kids / Features for Kids / Children's Pledge to On-line Safety
We recommend that every child accessing the Internet should adhere to the following pledge:
I promise to never give my name, address, phone number, school’s name, computer passwords or picture, to anyone on the Internet without my parents’ approval.
I promise to tell a parent or teacher if I see any bad language or pictures on the Internet, or if anyone makes me feel nervous or uncomfortable.
I promise to stay out of any chat rooms and websites not approved of by my parents.
I promise not to meet face to face with someone I meet on the Internet without telling my parents first and getting their approval, and I promise that any approved meeting shall be in a public place with my parents present.
I will talk with my parents so that we can set up rules for going online. We will decide upon the time of day that I can be online, the length of time I can be online, and appropriate areas for me to visit. I will not access other areas or break these rules.
